Things You Need To Know About Your Endoscopy Procedure
Before Your Procedure
DO NOT EAT OR DRINK ANYTHING AFTER MIDNIGHT unless your physician instructs you differently.
Notify your doctor if you develop any sign of illness such as a cold or infection before the date of your procedure.
Consent for your procedure must be signed before any medication can be given.
A responsible adult, licensed to operate a motor vehicle, must accompany all Surgical Guests to the facility and be present when the Guest is ready to leave. Plan on staying 1-2 hours after your surgery.
We suggest only one or two persons accompany guests to Kissimmee Surgery Center. We allow only two adults per patient and no children under 16 years.
Day of Procedure
Upon arrival at Kissimmee Surgery Center, please report to the reception desk located in the lobby.
Following your registration you will be escorted to the Guest Care Area where a nurse will assist you in preparing for your procedure.
Casual, comfortable clothing should be worn. Appropriate pajamas will be provided.
Valuables, jewelry and hairpieces should be left at home. If contacts, dentures or hearing aids are worn, bring a case for safe-keeping.
We encourage you to ask questions and let the staff know of your special needs. We want your visit to be as comfortable as possible.
It is very important that you arrive promptly at Kissimmee Surgery Center at the time stated.
After Your Procedure
We'd like to give you some general rules to supplement the instructions you will receive from your doctor. Your physician will authorize your discharge from Kissimmee Surgery Center.
Follow the doctor's instructions regarding diet, rest and medication. It is not unusual to feel dizzy and sleepy after a procedure.
Guests are advised not to drive, make important decisions, or sign important papers for at least 24 hours following a procedure.
Only two visitors will be allowed in the Recovery area.
Sorry, but no one under 16 will be allowed in the Recovery area.
Our staff will call to check on your progress.
In the event of any difficulty, you should first attempt to reach your doctor.
In you are unable to reach your doctor, you may call Kissimmee Surgery Center, Mon-Fri: 6:00am - 5:00pm.
The itemized bill from Kissimmee Surgery Center will be an easy-to-understand, all-inclusive bill for our service and facilities. It does not include fees of your physician, consulting physician, anesthesiologists or pathologist.
